To say that the spring of 2011 is in the sign of rock at Novoton is an understatement, to say the least. We are therefore a little extra proud to present Riddarna’s self-titled debut album. Riddarna is a trio from Gotland/Gothenburg that can be described a bit like Dungen’s insufferable cousin from the country that grew up on stoner rock. So it’s about beautiful and gaping rock’n’roll in Swedish that doesn’t actually sound like much else today.

What Gaffa wrote about their song ’Listen, rock’n’rollen is dead’ is so true: ”Just like when an electric Thåström roared about the death of rock with Imperiet in the early 80s, Riddarna’s song is rather a reminder that it where the corpse actually moves at times” And moves, it does properly.
