Antennas – Always On My Mind
Few bands have the opportunity to make their debut twice. However, that is exactly what Antennas will do. Although this is Antenna’s first single, the band has already released an album as Novak. They decided to change their name after Novak was ”kidnapped” by Fame Factory jerk Andreas Novak, who named his new ”band” just that, Novak. The combination of one guitarist (Emil Yttergren) leaving the band since the last album and a slight change in musical direction made the name change relevant.
Anyway, they’re back and hungry for their second debut. Right after the Novak album was released last fall, they locked themselves in the Existensminimum studio together with Magnus Henriksson and, during the fall and winter, recorded what will be Antenna’s first album. The album will be released in early September and this single/EP is the first taste.
’Always On My Mind’ is a wonderfully melancholic pop song about longing and lost love that cannot be repressed. Together with Magnus’ superb production, they have taken their songwriting and sound to a whole new level. Lo-fi aesthetics meets full orchestra with strings and brass. Fine harmonies are crossed with noise and distortion. Their sensitive pop has been dragged through the dirt properly, this time picking up pieces of the musical 80s and 90s that the band grew up with. The single/EP also features inspired remixes by (Grammy winner) Andreas Tilliander, Pro-Seed, Andkar and P.R.I.D.E. who, each, truly embraced the song and made it their own. https://frontl.ink/d2yrqwn
