Fredrik Georg Eriksson

One of Sweden’s hardest working punk/rock musicians is finally releasing his debut album! Fredrik Georg Eriksson has been touring the world with his other band Twopointeight (who just finished recording their third album, produced by Brian Fallon of The Gaslight Anthem), as well playing live with Alonzo Fas 3, and also (live and on records) with Knivderby, Alouatta and Karl Buhre.

– The whole point of Volume was that I could act autocrat and in a different way than in the other bands and draw the lines myself of how it should sound.
– As for people drawing parallels to everything from Weezer, Depeche Mode, Freddie Wadling and Björk says more about how eccentric it is rather the album actually sounding like any of them. Personally, I feel very influenced in general by people who mix freely, as household idol Hawksley Workman as to Beck, Fiona Apple and Sparks.

On his debut album Volume more shades of Georg Fredrik Eriksson’s voice are in focus than in previous bands and collaborations, where it always has been about 100% straight up and out. The exploration of the voice also comes from work as a voice actor.
- Looking at the voice as an intstrument I have probably learned at least as much in three years of dubbing animated films, as having played in various rock bands for twenty years.
