Katharina Nuttall at Hemma Hos Strage

Katharina visited the great Hemma Hos Strage podcast and they talked about how She was the only one liking synth music in the small Norwegian town of Mysen. She was going to become a professional soccer player but moved to Stockholm where she started a career as an actor and then switched gears and became a musician. She has made four solo albums that range between dramatic goth rock and dreamy electronica. Nowadays, Katharina Nuttall is best known as a film composer. Last year, many were delighted with her soundtrack to the documentary ’Kungen’ about Carl XVI Gustaf. Now she visits Strage’s house to talk about 19th-century poetry, about antique synths, about her monumental cover of Depeche Mode’s ’Stripped’, about sampling her refrigerator, and about standing as steady as trees through all seasons. Katharina Nuttall also plays favorite songs by artists such as Wendy Carlos, Laurie Anderson, Hildur Guðnadóttir and Radiohead. All can be enjoyed here.
