Knivderby – Dumskallarnas sammansvärjning

If you name an album after John Kennedy Toole’s fantastic book, you’re already halfway there. In addition, if you have already released three fantastic albums with covers in metal, masonite and urinal tiles, you pretty much made it. Knivderby comes from Jönköping and plays loud, sprawling, intense and damn fun rock’n’roll with as much punk as pop and new wave. And if there is something missing in these times when Lotta Engberg smiles her way through Bingolotto and Idol is the only thing that counts, it is Knivderby. I would even like to say that Knivderby is Sweden’s only chance for salvation before we drown in a TV4-sponsored karaoke show. Because when the record companies invest in crap and the press is only interested in gossip, Knivderby stands there with his middle finger in the air and plays music as if his life depended on it. With titles like Kommando UCP and Apekatt, they mix Fugazi with wonderful Stooges solos, organs and vocals with more passion than can fit on a measly CD. So turn off the TV and immediately go out and buy new Knivderby and maybe even the record industry will finally catch on. (By Mathias Skeppstedt) https://frontl.ink/qkv903m
