Motylki started out as a duo, became a chrysalis and is now a trio. Bound by burnout, separation and loss, the band deals with the following turmoil of/in 90s alt rock, punk and noise that feels nostalgic but still fresh. The name, which originates from Slavic languages (meaning butterflies) resonated with the band as it can cause a fluttering feeling in ones stomach, which can be hard to tell apart from angst or love. As often one state does not exist in isolation but often has an ambiguous quality which the band dissects and pulls apart. Themes of dualities and ones brittle existance are often explored in the musical context of Motylki.
