Pascal – Förbi Fabriken
From when Pascal was formed in March 2005 until recording and release of their debut album, it will have been less than a year. In between they have opened for Moneybrother (at the personal request of Anders Wendin). But Pascal are also a completely unique band. They say that because of the barren and dry
climate on Gotland, they have to play music.
They are a trio united in their love for noisy pop with understated beauty melodies and a huge joy to play live. And what do they sound like? I got a good description from Mikael Funke (Plaza) who wrote “Pascal sounds as if Håkan Hellström would sing in Ebba Grön who had listened to Joy Division and Cramps than Rolling Stones and Clash.” There’s also influences from Jesus and Mary Chain and Spiritualized but otherwise he has come up with an apt description. No bad words either but I have to
agree with every single one.
The first single will be the song ”Kyss mig” but it has been a difficult choice. We basically could have picked any of the songs. Everything from the ”pleaser” Dö inte nu and the Kal P Dal cover Jonnie to ”killers” Förbi Fabriken, Jävla Bengt or Sjuk. These are of course quite pleasant problems which mean that Pascal has succeeded
making one of 2006’s best records. https://frontl.ink/r6ay7bj
