Riddarna – Utomjordingar

’Utomjordingar’ is Riddarna’s fifth album and the band’s first in nine years. The album contains both intensity and emotional depth, with songs that vary between strong expressions and softer moments. The result is a Riddarna that sounds more mature, but also more uncompromising than ever.

It moves between darkness and light, intensity and stillness. The songs revolve around relationships, friction and the longing for community – often with a focus on the feeling of standing a little on the sidelines. It is a personal album, but with a direct and unsentimental appeal.

The album was produced and mixed by Hasse Rosbach (Turbonegro, Highasakite etc). The basic material was recorded live in Sandkvie Studio, with a focus on the interaction in the rock trio and a stripped-down working method where dynamics and presence were allowed to rule.

In order to open up new perspectives in songwriting, the guitarist and bassist have changed instruments on parts of the album. This adds subtle shifts in arrangement and sound, without disturbing the band’s basic expression. ’Utojordingar’ is an album that holds together as a whole – consistent in its sound and secure in its form, without becoming predictable.
